Back in mid-May I began our kitchen makeover. It was quite the project, with the DIY pieces taking over 55 hours to complete. Yikes :/. I’m so happy with the finished product, though!

I’ve now completed two cabinet painting projects. The first one was our bathroom vanity. You can read about that here. The second one was our kitchen cabinets. This was a MUCH larger project than the bathroom vanity, but it was SO worth every bit of the 50+ hours it took to complete the project. Thankfully I had some help from a good friend and the hubs!
I used different paint for the kitchen cabinets than I did for the bathroom (per a recommendation from a friend’s mom who knows a professional painter), and boy, I’m glad I did!
I used Benjamin Moore Fresh Start primer and Sherwin Williams ProClassic paint. The picture below shows the primer in white, but I actually used the deep base version and had it tinted. My paint color was Stratus by Valspar. Sherwin Williams color matched it perfectly.
Ok, so the Sherwin Williams paint, it’s expensive (I paid $50 for one gallon, and that was with 30% off), but it was worth every penny! This paint is amazing. It goes on thick, pretty much self-levels so you don’t have to mess with it much, and dries without that tacky/sticky feel that some cheaper paints have. It also dries quickly. I highly recommend it for painting cabinets. Continue reading
A few months ago, my husband and I decided to redo the vanity in our guest bathroom. We already painted the walls and bought a new shower curtain a couple years ago, but we still needed to spruce up the vanity. I’ll share with you the process of painting cabinets Fallon-style (aka – I have no idea if I did this correctly, but I think the cabinets turned out great!).

Today I finished the second bulletin board I began on the same day I completed this similar project.
My husband and I needed a place to put our lists – shopping lists, grocery lists, to-do lists, etc. Here was my solution:
I finally had some time to be creative today. I started a couple projects and actually finished one of them. Yay!

I recently revamped my office (see that whole process here, here, and here). I finished the accent wall, but had nothing on any of the other walls. Given this is an office, I thought a bulletin board would be practical. The ones you find at the store are usually plain and ugly, so I made my own!

Before I was married, doing laundry wasn’t fun, but it was bearable. However, after I was married, I began to DESPISE doing laundry! All of our clothes would be thrown in one, big, heaping pile or in the lone, much too small, laundry basket that would occasionally grace the laundry room floor. It was such a hassle and sooo time consuming to sort all the laundry before throwing it in the washing machine. I had to do something before I lost my mind! Continue reading
Well, I’ve (almost) finished the accent wall of my office. I’ve been working on this redo project for months now. See Part I and II here and here. It’s taken me longer than I expected – finding time to complete all the finishing touches has been difficult.
All the décor on this accent wall, with the exception of the yellow leaves (which were originally white), was found at a thrift store/rummage sale, was given to me or was something I already had around the house. In other words, this project was cheap! Continue reading
Picture frames are coming out of my ears, so I decided to get creative for my friend’s bridal shower. For her shower, I’m in charge of prizes! I’m so excited! 🙂 Using Pinterest as my inspiration, this is what I created:

It just didn’t seem quite finished. It was too boring and needed more color. Pinterest is always full of pins about painting your own vases, so I decided to give it a try.
A couple weeks ago, I posted here about beginning my office redo project. Although I still have a long way to go, I have finished painting. Woohoo! (For some helpful painting tips, check out this post.)
